Captivated by the description of Mr Abbs’ profession, duly checked it out to find that ‘stuff’ was a term used to describe textiles, cloth, etc. Makes sense.

Oh, well, I was just about to start referring to myself as a “stuff photographer.” Guess I won’t now!
Why not? The way we use language is ever changing – the fact that I did not understand what a Stuff Merchant was proves that. I think ‘stuff photographer’ is a great term – use it and love it. I am sure Mr Abbs never would have thought his tombstone would be so interesting some 130 years after his death!
