Yes! I think that they work perfectly together, reminding me a bit of Rothko with added detail, if you know what I mean.
I am a Rothko enthusiast and particularly love the Seagram Murals. The first time I saw them I felt like they were bloodied windows and doors and of course, despite his huge talent, he was, I think, trapped by his anger and alcoholism and he was seeking a way out, which sadly he did.
