Is *That* what a hob nailed boot is? It’s in one of Lennon’s songs and I always wondered…
No, it just is my idea of one. A hob-nailed boot is a heavy laced up boot and hob nails are in the sole for men working in the heavy industries. Not footware you would see bankers or politicians in…..
Right after I sent you my comment I was reading Time magazine and they had an article on the relationship between Prince Charles and his sons. The attached photo showed then lounging on some grass with Charles in a kilt and wearing big heavy boots with heavy, round steel heads in the soles. Oh, I thought that’s what they are. I’d would not want to be kicked with one of those! But I bet they’d last forever! 🙂
There, an insight into the quaintness of the old country……
I really have to get back to England. Is like to redo the museums in London and I’ve always wanted to go hiking in the lake district, too. So much to do, so little time… 🙂
