THE IRISH CLUB, BRADFORD, NOW CLOSED

Published on July 22, 2014September 14, 2014 by chrisrenney4 Comments

DSC_0535The club has obviously been closed for some time but this sign on the door is, I think, hysterical and unfortunately a bit stereotypical of how we joke about our Irish brethren.  One wonders if they could have found the doorbell would the club have stayed open?

DSC_0664We met Brandon last time we visited Bradford and bumped into him again on Sunday and this time we met his girlfriend Jenny.  We wish them all the best for the future and perhaps will see them again when we are in the area – hope so.

MERVYN AKA SMURF

Published on July 21, 2014September 14, 2014 by chrisrenney16 Comments

DSC_0454Mervyn was outside the theatre which is presumably a fairly lucrative place to be when you need money and are homeless.  He told me his friends call him ‘Smurf’.  We had quite a chat, much of which was personal to him.  I wish I had a magic wand.
