ON THE PERIPHERY

This gentleman sat alone and I saw no-one approach him. There is something vulnerable about him. He is seated outside the Town Library. The bench next to him was full of young people and he spent some time watching them. It tugged at my heart.

IS IT A WONDERFUL LIFE?

REFUGEE

I noticed this lady sitting in the sun and asked if I might take her photo. LIke all of us, she felt she is not beautiful enough but I thought she had a wonderful face. Her accent was not truly English and I asked her where she was born. ‘Eastern Prussia’, she told me. Her family fled the country during the Second World War and made their way to the UK. I hope they have been happy here.
