REFUGEE

REFUGEE

I noticed this lady sitting in the sun and asked if I might take her photo. LIke all of us, she felt she is not beautiful enough but I thought she had a wonderful face. Her accent was not truly English and I asked her where she was born. ‘Eastern Prussia’, she told me. Her family fled the country during the Second World War and made their way to the UK. I hope they have been happy here.

THE HUMAN CARNATION

THE HUMAN CARNATIONThis delightful lady came toward me on a rather grey day and she looked so vibrant and colourful I asked if I could photograph her. She was happy for me to do so and I am so glad I did. Sometimes we need reminding that life can be fun in all sorts of ways.
