THE GRAVEYARD AND THE WATER TOWER

GEORGE’S SHED IV

Actually, this is another shed! Yep, George had a few. This is the old outhouse where this chimney is. Will have to check its actual use but if a fire could be made here perhaps it was an old laundry.
GEORGE’S SHED II

My husband’s Great Uncle George was a market gardener and worked the land together with his youngest sister. These old ploughs were used by them and are housed in what the family calls ‘The Hovel’ which was actually lived in during harvest season by a couple whilst they worked the land. George bought it from them for £10 I believe and tacked it on to the end of his barns. These items are now in the care of my parents-in-law, as is the house and all the old outbuildings where this series of photographs were taken. There were some great finds here…..

COTTAGE INDUSTRY

These chaps are extremely varied in their skills and businesses. This shows them working together to make an outdoor flower box for me.
