Spent the day at Kirby Hall in Northamptonshire. This is one of the treasures of the Elizabethan age and has so many images to offer up. I hope they are of interest to you because, yes, I took a few…….

My husband’s Great Uncle George was a market gardener and worked the land together with his youngest sister. These old ploughs were used by them and are housed in what the family calls ‘The Hovel’ which was actually lived in during harvest season by a couple whilst they worked the land. George bought it from them for £10 I believe and tacked it on to the end of his barns. These items are now in the care of my parents-in-law, as is the house and all the old outbuildings where this series of photographs were taken. There were some great finds here…..
