This image is not sharp, I know, but then I thought well many of us do not see the homeless and poor – they hover in the periphery of our vision, physical and mental, and so if they are not clear we can ignore them.

Some of you may recall my photo of Mervyn, a homeless man whom I spoke to for a while and who allowed me to take his portrait. This records when I first saw him and I am not in any way criticising the ladies who walked past him but it is interesting to note their shopping bags in contrast to Mervyn’s ‘nothing’.
In fact, once they saw me approach him and talk to him they returned to give him some money as well which was lovely.
